| The Associate Board supports the
Pediatrics program in two ways. First members of the Board volunteer
their time on the Pediatrics and Adolescent Unit, located on
the fifth floor of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.
This unit serves children from birth to adolescents with a variety
of disabilities. The Associate Board volunteers work with the
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's Volunteer Resource Department
and the Rehabilitation Staff in providing quality care to the
patients by:
- Visiting patients
- Helping patients with activities individually or in groups
- Helping patients to increase their independence and potential
Secondly the Associate Board provides financial support via
their fundraising events to the Pediatrics free care program.
This program provides free orthotics and prosthetic devices
to children in need. Monies raised from the Annual Bearcat
Ball contribute to this fund.
